These terms apply to your use of BucketMath (bucketmath.com). By using the site, you agree to them. The disclaimer section explains what our calculators, specs and cost figures can and cannot tell you.
Disclaimer
Calculator results are estimates
Our calculators work from the numbers you enter and the assumptions shown on each page, such as soil densities and swell factors from published sources. Real soil, moisture, rock content, compaction and site conditions vary, so actual quantities, weights and costs can differ from the results.
BucketMath is general information, not engineering, surveying, legal or financial advice. For structural work such as foundations, retaining walls, structural fill or anything that must meet a building code, confirm quantities and methods with a licensed engineer or qualified contractor, and check local permit requirements.
Equipment specifications
Machine specifications on BucketMath are taken from manufacturers’ published spec sheets on the date we checked them, and we link to the source. Manufacturers change models, configurations and ratings over time, and figures vary with options and attachments. Before you buy, rent, transport or lift with a machine, confirm the figures with the manufacturer or dealer, and never exceed the rated capacities in the operator’s manual.
Cost figures
Cost ranges come from the sources named on each page, on the date shown. Prices in your area can be higher or lower, and they change. A BucketMath figure is not a quote; get written quotes from local suppliers and contractors.
Safety
Call 811 before you dig so buried utility lines can be marked. Follow the operator’s manual for any machine you use and the safety rules that apply to your work.
Errors
We check our figures against their sources, but mistakes can happen. If you find one, email bucketmath1@gmail.com with the page and the figure and we will check it and correct the page if needed.
Trademarks and independence
Brand and model names such as Bobcat, Caterpillar (Cat), John Deere and Kubota are trademarks of their owners. We use them only to identify the machines we describe. BucketMath is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any equipment manufacturer or dealer.
Advertising and links
We plan to support BucketMath with display advertising. Ads are kept separate from our content and do not decide what we write or which numbers we show. We do not currently use affiliate links; if we add them, we will say so on the pages where they appear. Links to other websites are provided for reference, and we are not responsible for their content.
